NEWS FLASH: PlayStation 5 Price and Release Date

Sony have finally announced the release date and prices for their next-gen consoles, a week after Microsoft did for the Xbox.

The PS5 (with disc drive) will cost $750 ($500 USD) while the Digital edition only version of the console costs $600 ($400 USD).

The consoles will be available in Australia, US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and South Korea on November 12th and the rest of the world on November 19th.

At their Showcase livestream, Sony showed off more of games including Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Resident Evil 8: Village, Final Fantasy 16 and more.

The new games shown off were Hogwarts Legacy, an RPG set in the Wizarding World in the 1800s; and a confirmation of a God of War sequel, God of War: Ragnarök.

Along with these announcements, Sony confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on the PS4 as well as the PS5.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also come with an ‘Ultimate Edition’ which will include a remaster of the PS4 Spider-Man game with new additions to the original game.

In response to Xbox’s near limitless backwards compatibility, Sony have announced their own version with the PlayStation Plus Collection.

Players with a PS Plus membership will have access to PS4 games (like The Last of Us, God of War, Uncharted 4, Fallout 4, Persona 5) to download on the PS5.

The PS5 is available for pre-order now and will be available in November.
